On Saturday, July 29 at Northeast Elementary School, Kinston Teens will be coordinating its 3rd Annual Youth Leadership Summit for elementary and middle school students. The purpose of this annual event is to promote awareness of issues affecting youth in our community, design community service projects, and develop leadership skills necessary to become productive citizens – locally and globally!

This free, one-day summit will focus on developing students into 21st century leaders who will know that they have the ability to change the world! Attendees will enhance their skills through a series of workshops, group projects, empowerment messages from keynote speakers and leadership development exercises.

This is the third year the organization has hosted this summit, and we look forward to it having an even greater impact than the last two years. Our organization recognizes how social issues, crime, health, drugs and other problems disproportionately affect young people, and at this summit we hope to empower youth to find solutions to make a positive difference.
